DALLAS, TEXAS – April 2, 2014 — Mainstreet Inc. is pleased to announce its award of the POS refresh for STAGE Stores, Inc. (NYSE: SSI)
The companies began working together in June 2011 when STAGE Stores selected Mainstreet as their depot service partner to maintain their legacy IBM POS systems, to manage their store systems inventory and to provide, integrate and deploy systems for new stores and store remodels. STAGE Stores was quickly able to gain cost and operational efficiencies with improved visibility into their store systems inventory and performance, which allowed them to proactively address potential issues. Most importantly, Mainstreet’s expertise in supporting legacy systems enabled STAGE Stores to protect its investment in their IBM POS hardware until the retailer determined the time was appropriate for their business to look to next generation technologies.
In early 2013, STAGE Stores embarked on an extensive review of new POS systems from all leading manufacturers. Mainstreet partnered with Hewlett-Packard (HP) to develop a solution based on HP’s sleek and reliable rp7800 POS platform customized by Mainstreet to meet STAGE Stores’ specific requirements and in-store environment. After considerable testing and store pilots, STAGE Stores selected Mainstreet and HP to provide their next generation POS systems with a multi-year deployment commencing in early 2014.
“Selecting a POS platform that was robust, flexible and customer centric was extremely important to us,” commented Steven Hunter, EVP/CIO STAGE Stores, Inc. “The Mainstreet and HP teams have consistently exceeded our expectations.”
“Mainstreet is a trusted technology advisor to STAGE Stores, helping the leading small town retailer implement a pragmatic approach to store transformation and customer engagement that leverages technology, protects investment in current systems and improves the bottom line,” says Reg Thomas, EVP Operations Mainstreet. “We are pleased and proud to lead an extended team focused on achieving these objectives for our valued partner, STAGE Stores.”
